Sophisticated South America: Chile 🇨🇱

Updated: Nov 3

South America's Gem of Elegance and Diversity - Chile! 🇨🇱

Coming to Chile from Argentina,

I was a little bit jaded from the rivalry between the two countries… let me explain: Chile & Argentina had a couple of skirmishes between them; and the people really cannot stand each other! The Argentinian are still upset about Chile helping the UK during the Falkland wars - they might forgive; they never forget (a motto I live by).

So when I was living in Ushuaia & hanging out with my friends at the Chilean consulate… They told me their point of view and I compared it with the point of view from Argentinian locals I lived with: completely different stories and always blaming one another and putting each other down. There was definitely is NO love lost between them lol 😂

Alas, I arrive in Chile, and all my misconceptions were turned upside down… As I traveled throughout the whole country: from San Pedro de Atacama in the farthest north to the deepest south in the Chilean Patagonia - Punta Arenas, I get to know Chileans very well, laugh and learn with them - a todo dar! (cómo decía la abuela Alicia). Chileans are warm, intelligent & pragmatic and very friendly (tenia razón el tío Juanjo - la gente muy amable y su economía de las mejores de Latino América). 👌🏻

So the lesson of the story kids: always make your own decisions about people - places - things … and never get jaded by gossip, and what others say (por eso me caga el chisme y nunca me metí en la familia (primos) y sus pendejadas) jeje 😂

Life is too short muchachos, time flies ... so travel, make your own decisions about people & places and always keep learning: that is my advice to you!
